Good Neighbor Stories  is about San Francisco Bay Area people who are good neighbors and show kindness to others, whether around the block or around the world. Our motto is, “Be a good neighbor; share good stories”.

I hope you will not only visit the site to learn about people and groups in the Bay Area who are doing good, but also interact with the site by leaving comments and sharing your own stories. I am always on the lookout for people who are passionate about causes and organizations helping the community to contribute to the site through guest blogging posts.

Why Good Neighbor Stories?
There are a lot of good people in the world, despite what some perceive is displayed in the media. I once heard two men talk once in a store about why they don’t read newspapers or watch TV news. To them it was all bad news. “Nothing changes,” one man said. “When I check again in a couple of months everything will still be messed up.” The other man agreed.
I disagree! It’s not all bad news; there’s plenty of people doing good in the world. I hope this site captures some of that good, as well as provide inspiration to people who want to contribute something positive to their communities.
Who is My Neighbor?
More than ever in history, we are interconnected with people around the globe. What I do in my community affects communities half way around the globe—through the products I use, the car I drive, the trash I throw away, the words I write, the money I donate, or the people I interact with across thousands of miles through social networking. Companies as well are neighbors, in the way they treat workers, to the way they safeguard the environment (or not), to the way they do business with customers. We are neighbors with all.
Who am I?
I am Pam Marino, a San Francisco Bay Area native, journalist, and one-time coordinator of volunteers for a non-profit organization, as well as a lifetime volunteer. Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions for stories about the good neighbors you know.
